Reading makes you smarter?

Do you think reading makes you smarter? Why or why not?

It does because being smart is being knowledgeable. If you hear somebody who knows everything, he is smart but it doesn't mean he is intelligent.
So, yes. It does make you smarter.

Well, some people will read to learn something so in that case I do think it'll make you smarter.

Even if you're reading fiction, I think reading can help you increase your vocabulary and also make you more empathic. So, I still think it'll make you smarter in some ways.

Absolutely. Reading can even give you ideas to do something you would never think of before.

It can also relieve stress (or it does in my case).
